Understanding the Settings
Click here to download our new iPhone Credit Card Terminal User Guide & Tips!
The iPhone Credit Card Terminal will start on the Settings screen the first time after it is installed. After that, you can access the settings by tapping the Settings button in the upper right corner of the Terminal screen.
The settings control how the iPhone Credit Card Terminal communicates with Authorize.Net.
API Login ID
The API Login ID comes from your Authorize.Net account. To find it:
The Transaction Key comes from your Authorize.Net account. If you already have software that uses Authorize.Net, you should be able to find it in the configuration for that software. If the iPhone Credit Card Terminal is the first application to use your account, or if you’ve lost your transaction key, you must get a new one: Please review the Authorize.Net Merchant Integration Guide http://www.authorize.net/support/merchant_guide.pdfto create your transaction key.
The Transaction Key field hides the characters you’ve entered, like a password field on a website. We do this to prevent anyone from copying it down if you leave your phone unattended.
Test Your Account
Tapping this field will run a test transaction using the API Login ID and Transaction Key that you’ve entered. This will help catch typos early. Typos can be common because the fields are long random strings of characters, and the Transaction Key cannot be read after you enter it.
Test Mode
If you turn this switch on, you can run transactions against Authorize.Net, but they won’t actually do anything. This is useful for training others to run transactions, or for checking your cellular network reception at a sales venue.
When Test Mode is on, the Charge button on the terminal screen will say “Charge (Testing)”. When you’re in Test Mode, you can use these test credit card numbers:
| Test Credit Cards (Test Mode Only) | |
| Visa | 4007 0000 0002 7 |
| MasterCard | 5424 0000 0000 0015 |
| Discover | 6011 0000 0000 0012 |
| American Express | 3700 000000 00002 |
| Test Server | |
If you turn this switch on, transactions will run against the Authorize.Net test infrastructure, which requires a special API Login ID and Transaction Key.
You can use the Test Server if you want to try the iPhone Credit Card Terminal when you don't have an Authorize.Net account. In that case, turn on Test Server, and use this account information:

API Login ID 6zz6m5N4Et
Transaction Key 9V9wUv6Yd92t27t5
